The Friends of the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden (FAALBG) are now deep into planning for the next Association of Friends of Botanic Gardens conference which we are looking forward to hosting here in Port Augusta SA.
We have been working closely with the staff of the Garden as well as the Port Augusta City Council to produce an enjoyable, stimulating and interesting conference for all garden lovers.
We plan to space the program to allow time to network and tour our unique garden as well as invite some most interesting speakers covering aspects of our theme.
"MANGROVES, MYALLS AND MORE"
There will be time for other Friends Groups to present a static display of their gardens, and time will be allocated in the program for short presentations of interesting and innovative developments of your gardens. If you would like to participate in this part of the program please forward a précis of your presentation before March15th 2012
Registrations: will become available on the Association’s website www.friendsbotanicgardens.org during February 2012
Key Guest speaker: Professor Chris Daniels, Director of the Barbara Hardy Institute, Division of Information Technology, Engineering and Environment, University of South Australia, and Presiding member of the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Natural Resource Management Board.
The title of his talk will be:
“Backyards: The most important room in the house”
