Our Membership
Currently 51 Friends of Botanic Gardens groups from capital city, suburban and rural and regional botanic gardens and a few Arboreta. The individual groups vary in size and complexity from a membership of 20 Friends to approximately 3000.
All States and two New Zealand Botanic Gardens are represented, however for historical reasons the majority of Botanic Gardens Friends groups are in Victoria.
Benefits of Membership
Members of the Association have the opportunity for
Pleasure:
- In the company of others with a common interest.
- Sharing ideas, knowledge and information with Friends throughout Australia and New Zealand and overseas.
Communication:
- Having access to the contact details of other Friends’ groups throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Participation:
- In the Association Conference held in alternate years.
- Organise an Association Regional or National Conference.
- Attend and contribute to other Botanic Gardens’ related seminars and conferences.
Promotion:
- Receive Campsis, the Association’s bi-annual newsletter.
- Promote your Friends/garden by contributing articles to Campsis.
- Post information, major events and photographs on the Association’s website.
- Have a ‘static page’ attached to the Association website if your group or garden has minimal or no internet exposure.
